I haven’t written much this year. 2025 was consumed, completely, by family matters. My son-in-law of 21 years died in December, and I was busy walking through that sea of impending grief with my daughter and grandkids. Tom was my good friend and cycling companion besides being my son-in-law. I’ve started writing about it, but it always feels like this is my daughter’s grief even more than mine, so I never post much about it. I can’t usurp what she’s been through, but I will write more, coming soon.
The other consuming issue, of course is the state of our country. “Something’s rotten in the state of Denmark.” OOPS Nope. It’s rotten in the good ol’ USA, and it’s no longer a “if we aren’t careful”…we’re gonna be Germany 1939. It’s no longer “if we aren’t careful.” It’s HERE. Folks, it’s gonna take so long to recover from the corruption that has taken over our country–and militarily invaded Minnesota–that we have to do EVERYTHING we can. And the people who voted for the Orange Tyrant in Charge, DJT, turn a blind eye and pretend it just isn’t so bad. Exactly, as I understand everything I’ve read, what Germans who didn’t want to see the truth were doing in the late 1930s and beyond. We are running headlong into the next epic human disaster, orchestrated by DJT and his minions.
I digress. So many other people are writing eloquently about the state of the union, that I haven’t been sure I could add anything. So right now, I’m posting my son’s substack. Of course, I bawled when I read it. And I was self-conscious about it, too, but now, I’m just going all-out and I’m posting it. Follow the link and you can read my son Josh’s reaction to recent events. Bless him. And may he carry this torch forever. I recommend you follow his substack.
